Beatles en Japón
Hoy 4 de Mayo, hace 50 años de que los Beatles consiguieran el permiso para tocar 3 fechas en el
mítico estadio de artes marciales y cultura japonesa BUDOKAN 日本武道館 construido y
finalizado el 3 de Octubre de 1964. Sin duda fue un día histórico tanto para la banda como para
Japón, ya que fue el día que muchos japoneses se opusieron al concierto de los “melenudos”
británicos en su recién estrenado templo de artes marciales y cultura Japonesa.
Hay que destacar que sin duda esta fecha marcó un hito en la historia del Pop/Rock internacional,
ya que, después del éxito de los Beatles como pioneros, dio paso a grandes conciertos como los que
pudo dar Bod Dylan, Eric Clapton (editó vinilo en directo), los mismísimos Deep Purple, Cheap
trick y un largo etc de celebridades en incluso de Rock Japonés como Luna Sea, Gazette, etc…
La visita de los Beatles fue marcada por la revolución juvenil, oposición, y muchas energías que
no dejaron indiferente a nadie, muchos japoneses empezaron a aprender inglés por las canciones de
los Beatles, aún hoy en día es así y se siguen usando a modo didáctico.

Today 4rd MAY was the day that The Beatles received the permit document to flight and perform to Japan, so we are talking about a very important day in the history of Beatles and history of Pop/Rock in the world. We have to think about they played and organised the show in the BUDOKAN 日本武道館, was built and finished on 3rd of October in 1964 and the only meaning to built that temple was for a Japanese culture acts and traditional martial arts, so as you can imagine in less than 2 years the visit of such «long haired» guys from a place called Liverpool in England visit and played Rock was really shocking for almost all Japanese people, except of course for the young guys that really expected the shows. Was the first time that The Beatles received a «Death threat», the visit ,once they arrived to Japan, was really hard and they could be only in hotel Hilton because was dangerous for the band be outside.
Somehow after that historical shows, many bands follow their steps, like Deep Purple (editing album), Eric Clapton(editing album), Cheap Trick, etc… and of course many japanese bands, like Luna Sea, The Gazette, etc…
Even nowadays in Japan people follow Beatles, and you can find really special places to see musical tributes, a Cavern Club in Osaka, etc…
